I'm thinking about auditioning at the Alley Theater but I don't know anything about it...so can anyone educate me? What's it like working there? How are the people? What is the space like?
Just curious...
thanks!
I can only give you audience perspective.
It's like a small little black box theatre. Very homey and intimate. Genuine touches show that the theatre owners really are considerate of their audience- small tables you can reserve that are candlelit and have dishes of candy, free coffee in the lobby. I was also impressed that they had fliers for other theatres in the lobby. The group I was with got to chat a bit with the owner and her son and they seemed like really cool people.
If I were back "on the market," I would definitely audition at The Alley.

Thanks- those are good things to know. The things you metioned do say a lot about the spirit of the place! As a non-coffee drinker, but long time friend of many coffee addicts, I bet that gesture is greatly appreciated!

Just a note Liz... The tables were actually part of the set for 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down.
I will say that I have nothing but praise for the people at the Alley after having directed my first show there. Supportive, and wonderful to work with.
