Angelo Pizzo conversation event at JCC, Jan 16th

The Jewish Community Center, 6701 Hoover Road, Indianapolis will host an event with famed Indiana film writer and producer Angelo Pizzo (Hoosiers, Rudy) at 7:00 P.M. , Wednesday, January 16th. Mickey Maurer, formerly of the Daniels administration, will interview Mr. Pizzo. It will be a "casual, funny and informative session with a question and answer session. Reception follows discussion so you can meet our esteemed guests." There is no charge.

Interesting that Mickey (of all people) will be interviewing Pizzo considering Mickey gutted the Film Commission.

Angelo's really cool. He wrote one of the most celebrated sports movies in history: HOOSIERS!

Angelo was one of the founding board members of The New Harmony Project, an Indiana-organization that is dedicated to the creation of new scripts that celebrate the human spirit. (Look it up, it's great!) I think he has also served on the board of Heartland Film Festival, which essentially grew out of NHP. --I don't know if he serves on the board for either organization now.

Anyway, a great guy who lives in California but whose heart truly seems to reside in Indiana. I'm a fan.

Oh, well I guess that's another thing I'm behind on. It's been quite some time since I've seen or spoken with Angelo, and I think he was still in Ojai, CA, at that time.
