Footlite Musicals' Annual Summer Children's Workshop
Footlite Musicals will hold its annual Summer Children’s Workshop for children ages 6 to 12 for a three-week period from June 1 to June 19.
Children will learn all about live musical theatre, culminating in a production of “Annie, Jr.“ This musical is an abridged version of the famed Broadway musical “Annie,” geared to young performers. The musical has a book by Thomas Meehan, lyrics by Martin Charnin and music by Charles Strouse.
The workshop, again under the direction of local actress Katie Sellars, will focus on creative performance, costuming, set construction, music
and dance.
All sessions are at Footlite’s home, the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 North Alabama Street, Indianapolis, IN. Sessions are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the final week, the Friday session will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. when “Annie, Jr.“ will be performed for the campers’ families and friends.
During the daily sessions, students will be given a half-hour lunch break and will be expected to provide their own lunches. On the final Friday, a pizza dinner will be provided to the children.
The cost of the workshop is $200 per child. Registration and a meet-and-greet session will held Thursday, May 28, at 6 p.m., at the theatre.
