  1. hey there...
I believe you are talking about CTI, right?
That is where I WAS working last year.
They unfortunately ran low on the fundage and
had to let me go in May. I am directing Sleeping Beauty
for the Childrens Museum and it opens in March.

Hey, Ty. I would like to bring my grandson to one of the YAT shows. This latest one's not good because I'm still recuperating from surgery. What's coming up in the next few months? Your fan, susan freeman

Ty is an independent freelance director, teacher and acting coach and the Artistic Director of The Arden Theatre. He is also an accomplished produced playwright. With his writing partner Michael Hoagland (another Hoosier boy…just call him Hoagy) he writes family musicals, the kind they grew up on, under the company name Musical Adventures Ink. In 2001 they premiered their adaptation of THE JUNGLE BOOK at Beef&Boards’ The Pyramid Players and it has gone on for multiple professional productions across the country. They premiered RIP VAN WINKLE’S SLEEPY HOLLOW, at B&B for The Pyramid Players in the fall of 2004 and have secured additional productions of it as well. In the Spring of 2005 they premiered their “Shrektian” version of RUMPELSTILTSKIN to great success. In addition to being a writer and director Ty is also an AEA actor, accomplished singer and voice over artist. He spreads holiday cheer by traveling and mounting Christmas productions of his creations across the country and here at home as a freelance professional Santa, (www.indysanta.com) a job he takes most seriously. Check him out at the Circle Of Lights Celebration. His most precious production? His daughter (Estelle Grace), born July 2007.

Below there is space for "AWARDS".
Can't say as I
have "won" any nor do I
anticipate doing so. But I
will say this about that. I
recieve my "awards" and
"rewards" through teaching.
When I see the discoveries
in a young person's eyes or
have them experience the
"I get it" moment. Right now
that is just awesome for me.

A very wise person once
said to me that, “No matter
where you are on stage,
no matter the size of the role,
someone will be watching
you.” So, I have lived my
onstage live by that rule.
Whether playing a principle
or in the ensemble I have
always treated what I do
with great respect. And
that respect is what I try
to instill in the students
that I teach. Theatre is so
much more that just
“pretend”. Yes, it entertains
but, also frees us to think,
exalts the human
experience and gives voices
to some that cannot speak.
When I am asked why I do
what I do I usually
laughingly say, “It’s not for
the big bucks”… but always
this quote comes to mind,
from the ceiling of the
Skylight Opera in
Milwaukee...
Awards::
“To help us forget some things, remember others, and to refresh the dry places in our spirits.”
