Since she never seems to blow her own horn, I'm throwing these two successes in
film projects for Julie Powers in 2010.
The short fanfilm "What'd I Tell Ya" can be seen on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_nxzRXsPDU
Julie did all the costuming and makeup on this film. It also features female bodybulider
Jen Witt from Chicago, and Russell Moss and Brad Zumwalt from
Boggstown Cabaret and The Coachlight Musical Theatre in Nashville.
Also, the feature film "Section 5" was just listed as one of the top 10 independent
films of 2010 by Rogue Cinems web magazine. Julie did all the special makeup
for this thriller produced by Randy DeFord at Oak Road MultiMedia. Here are
links to the film's review, top 10 listing and one of the trailers on YouTube.

Congratulations Julie for one hell of a busy and productive year. It's the people
behind the scenes that make the people up front look good!!!
Julie...congtrats!!!! I see where "What'd I Tell Ya" was accepted for screeing at the
FAUX FILM FESTIVAL at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon next month.
First CONNOOGA, and now this well known festival. I also know it was the only
Indiana film selected, which is a huge honor. Kudos on all the costuming and makeup
that helped sell this short film.
I know this site is totally not into film, but when the people involved are some of the
crossover folks that do both film and theatre, I think it's worth mentioning, especially
when their contributions have such a huge impact on the result.
Hot damn..she's at it again. I see where Julie has just done a film
with LLoyd Kaufman. See the teaser put out by OakRoad Multimedia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM1Q6fieijE
Kaufman is the virtual king of independent film production and
distribution having worked on films such as Rocky and Saturday
Night Fever in his younger days. Today, he's the voice of B-movies
and non-studio productions and a HUGE force for net neutrality
and free speech. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd_Kaufman
Also, I saw from the Facebook pics that his wife Pat Kaufman
was there!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Swinney_Kaufman
She is the head of the New York State's Film and Television
Commission under 4 governors AND on the board of the
prestigous Hamptons Film Festival.
Julie..you're hangin' with some awesome folks. Seriously...
can't wait to see PURGE CLAUSE!!!
Thanks, Ginny (and Kit and Jeff)! It was a really fantastic experience, and I'm grateful to Randy DeFord for casting me. Lloyd and Pat are really sweet, down to earth people; it was something I'll never forget!
Julie...I saw on FB that SECTION 5 made it into a festival!!
This is great!! Congratulations to all of the cast and crew.
You got a "best of" too for feature films. Good way to start
the day!! http://www.skyfest.net/index.php?id=76
