Footlite Musicals sets open auditions for its Young Artists production of
"Godspell"
Footlite Musicals will conduct open auditions for its annual summer Young Artists production, featuring performers ranging in age from 13 to 18, on Sunday, June 3, and Monday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. each evening at the theatre’s home, the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 North Alabama Street, Indianapolis, IN.

This year’s production, “Godspell,” will be presented August 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19 at the Hedback under the direction of Ed Trout.

Written by John Michael Tebelak, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, “Godspell” is based on The Gospel According to St. Matthew. The musical is one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. “Godspell” boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, “Day By Day.” As the cast performs “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and heartrendingly to life.

A multi-racial cast is sought, and an individual should prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows his or her vocal range. Bring sheet music in the appropriate Key. Also come prepared to dance, wearing or bringing clothing and shoes you can move in safely and comfortably. Auditioners must state, up front, all known conflicts through the rehearsal period.
