What happens in the Middle ages....stays in the Middle Ages!

Eloisa & Abelard is the story of an ill-fated pair of midieval French lovers-and the hapless gods who put them up to it. The Archangel Gabriel and Goddess Venus, nominated by their fellow immortals to settle a longstanding bet between the Classical and Christian gods, propose a game of temptation. Gabrial creates Abelard, a scholar of philosophy and ethics, to live the life of a true Christian, while Venus creates Eloisa, his precocious and nubile young pupil, as an attempt to sway him from that noble path.
