Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice. The musical started off as a concept recording before its first staging on Broadway in 1971. The musical is based very loosely on the Gospels' account of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the crucifixion.
It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus, struggles that are not in the Bible. The resurrection is not included. It therefore largely follows the form of a traditional passion play.
Just remember....everything's alright.

Not entirely true, Willie. You can't be a real fan of Barbershop in the area without remembering a unique name like McAlexander. And are these the Noblesville McLeans that are involved? Because many of us know the talented Chelsea McLean from that direction of town.
Nice job Darrin...halfway.
Yes, the McAlexander we have is the son, Patrick. He is a wonderful composer, and a real trooper. I have had the honor of working with him for a bunch of shows.
No, the McLeans we have are not related to Chelsea. Still a talented family. (John is going into his 2nd year at NYU Tisch school.)
Darrin...can I have cookies now?
By the way: final dress rehearsal hijinx tonight:
-The Last Supper: Jesus is singing, raises the bread (a large Pita) which someone has punched holes into so that it looked like a smiley face! Yes...Jesus laughed
through the next few verses.
