KidsPlay Auditions for "Attack of the Pom-Pom Zombies"
KidsPlay, Inc. children’s theatre will hold auditions for its fall production of “Attack of the Pom-Pom Zombies” by Stephen Murray from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14th for returning KidsPlayers and Thursday, August 16th for new actors. Director Christine Schaefer is looking for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades to fill approximately 28 speaking parts for football players, pirates, cheerleaders, and ‘tough guys’, as well as, 12 openings for dancers.
The play takes place at a beach-side hamburger stand that is neighbor to a nuclear power plant in need of nuclear waste storage space. Barnacle Betty, restaurant owner, offers up her storeroom, but problems ensue when a vat of nuclear waste is mistaken for hot dog relish. The nerdy restaurant staff is called upon to save the day when the high school cheerleading squad ingests some of the zombie-creating condiment on their hot dogs.
Prepared audition pieces of no more than 3 minutes, including poems and passages from books or scripts, are recommended.
Auditions will be held at the KidsPlay Dungeon on the lower level of the Memorial Building at 98 East North Street in Greenfield. Performances are the weekend of November 9th, 10th, and 11th at the HJ Ricks Centre for the Arts in downtown Greenfield.
