    LOST

    Okay, LOST fans...

One stinky thing about DVR is that it can sometimes cut off the end of a show. This being the case, I missed the last couple minutes of LOST last night. Was anything important revealed in the conversation between Jack and Kate by the fire on the beach??

AAAAAH crud... I forgot to tape it AGAIN!!!!

Man, I am so far behind.
Will I be able to catch up since I have never seen an episode or am I forever going to be stuck watching it on DVD?

I hope this doesn't turn into the next Kinkdom Hospital. I really enjoyed that show at the beginning... but then it lost its luster.

I can't remember anything very important in the last few minutes. I actually thought last night's episode, though good, was the weakest I'd seen.

    Joe,

Here ya go, to the best of my memory....Episode One:

Didn't see it but.....the plane crashed 1000 miles off course.

    Episode Two:

Survivors trying to figure things out. They find a pair of handcuffs lying loose and find that one passenger was a US Marshall transporting a prisoner. A group heads out exploring and are attacked by a Polor Bear on this tropical island. It is revealed that the good-looking girl (Kelly?) was the prisoner and now has the US Marshall's gun. The US Marshall is still alive but only barely. The Doc is trying to keep him alive and he awakes and says, "Where is she!?"

    More later....

    Episode Three:

Through flashbacks, while the US Marshall fights for life, we find that the girl was on the run in Australia (where the plane took off from) and began working for a farmer.

The girl seems innocent and sweet and her and the Doc get closer. The US Marshall warns him to steer clear of her and the Doc is the only one that knows she was as prisoner until the fat guy figures it out.

On the farm, the farmer sees her picture on a wanted poster and turns her in for the reward. There is an auto accident and she has an opportunity to get away but she choses to save the farmer and is caught. The question: Is the Marshall really a Marsahall or just a bounty hunter?

In the end, the girl offers to tell the Doc why she was on the run, but he doesn't want to know.....so we DON'T KNOW!!!

    The Marshall clings to life....

If I'm missing anything, please jump in anyone!

    Re: LOST

    The main girl is Kate.
    The main guy is Jack.
    Terri O'Quinn is Mr Locke.
    The fat guy is Hurley.
    The pregnant lady is Claire.
The rock n roll guy is Charlie.
    The Iraqi guy is Sayid.
The black guy is Michael. I don't remember the kid's name. The dog is Vincent.
    The jerky guy is Sawyer.

I don't remember the name of the lifeguard or his sister. Or the Korean couple.

I thought last night's episode was good. It was nice to get a little more info on Jack and I'm totally freaked out about the coffin thing. And I'm intrigued to know what Jack did to his family that was so horrible.

It might be easier to share what is known about each character than try to go through each episode. I have a hard time remembering what happens from one peisode to antoher but I can remember character story lines.

    Re: LOST

I think the reason I was slightly dissappointed by last night's episode is because the episode before with Mr. Locke was BRILLIANT!! I didn't think last night was bad, just not as riveting as last week. There will always be good and bad episodes.

    Re: LOST

Ok, my favorite episode, brilliantly written--I may be missing episodes....

Mr. Locke has been a mysterious character from the start. Making friends with the boy and whittling a dog whistle to call the boy's lost dog. Then letting the father be the hero and return the dog. It is clear he has many talents that will be utlilized.

The show started with him in flashback waking and looking at his foot, then finding his shoe and putting it on. Then back to present where they are out of food and he suggests they hunt the wild boar that they found digging in the wreckage. Hunt with what? He opens up a case FULL OF KNIVES that he had checked onto the plane. Off they go on a hunt.

In flashback, we hear Mr. Locke take a phone call at work where he is called "Colonel" and told to meet at a designated time for some mission. He hangs up quickly as his boss comes round and mockingly calls him "Colonel".

The hunt continues and in flashback we see Mr. Locke sitting at a break table at work playing a military game with a coworker. His boss comes in and mocks him more and pulls out a magazine from Locke's desk advertising a "Walkabout" in Australia that Locke has signed up for. His boss laughs at him and tells him he'll never do it, that he can't. Locke says, "Don't tell me what I can't do."

On the hunt, the boars catch them off guard and someone is injured. Mr. Locke can't seem to get up. He looks to his foot and sees it shaking a bit. He finally gets to his feet and continues on to find the boar on his own. They tell him he can't kill them alone. He storms off saying, "Don't tell me what I can't do."

On the hunt, Mr. Locke comes up against something very, very large. Something that is so large it knocks over trees. In the end, he survives and returns with a boar, but we don't know what happened. But he returns with a bit of an understanding of the island.

In flashback, we see Mr. Locke sitting at a desk arguing with the guy that runs the Australian walkabout. They are refusing to let Locke on the bus. Locke arues that he has a right to go, but the owner says the walkabout is far to rough for him and that Locke actually lied by misrepresenting himself. Finally the guy gets up and heads for the bus, saying he can't hold it any longer. Locke pulls back from the table and we see he is in a wheelchair!!!!! He yells after the guy, "Don't tell me what I can't do!"

Another flashback, Locke is laying in the sand after the crash, looking at his foot. He finds his shoe. He stands.

During this episode, the others had decided to burn the remains of the dead ones to prevent animals from getting them. As the fire blazes, Locke looks beyond the flames and sees his empty wheelchair sitting in the sand. It was AWESOME!

So was he cured during the crash? Has the island cured him? Also: the Doc began noticing a man in a suit standing at the edge of the jungle watching them but couldn't catch him. Very creepy.

    Re: LOST

I have to agree- Mr. Locke's story is fantastic.

For those who don't know (Jim)...

We learn that he was paralyzed from the waist down 4 years ago. We don't know what happened to cause the paralysis. He had gone to Australia to be part of a walkabout tour- like a survivalist thing. Well, because he is wheelchair bound, they wouldn't allow him on the trip. So he ends up on the ill-fated plan out of Sydney. When they crash, he wakes up to discover that he has regained full use of his legs. His life before had been pretty sad and empty. Nasty boss at work, fantasized relationship with a phone-sex operator, etc. Now he has his legs back and his able to fully use his survivalist skills. He was able to hunt and kill a wild boar all by himself. He has some sort of intense connection with the wild side of the island.

What my husband and I talked about in regards to the coffin from last night's episode- if the crash brought Locke's legs back, could something have happened with the body along those lines???

    Re: LOST

OK... I am intrigued... but I have missed what appears to be the best of the episodes that sets this whole thing up!!!!

Sounds kind of lke "Sphere" (If you ever saw the movie... which sucked)
The book portrayed it much better than the movie, but essentially it granted whatever was in your mind. (good or bad)

There must be someone on the net who has taped these things.
