    What's in your CD player?

I know, many of you are plugged into the Internet for musical selections. So am I.

I also know that I will get many people listening to cast recordings.

But I will ask anyway. What is your current fave?

I ask because I have a new one that I'm hot on.

The band is called the Modern Skirts and the album is The Catalogue of Generous Men.

It's melodic and quirky and fun and many times evocative of a mellow mood.

Think Death Cab for Cutie but cleaner melody lines.

    Your turn.

Kelly Clarkson - Breakway (stop laughing)
    XTC - Skylarking
    OLIVER- Pladium recording (studying)
    They might Be Giants- Lincoln
    Suzanne Vega - Solitude Standing

5 cd changer... Kelly is playing now and I am jammin...but now... to bed.

    Hey Gus,
you're surprised, all five are not showtunes, huh.

    Vega?

    Bravo!

In that same vein, new artist Laura Veirs, Year of Meteors is lots like Vega.

Right now I'm listening to O.A.R.'s 34th & 8th, got that and Stories of a Stranger since I just saw the band yesterday. As soon as this 18-minute version of "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" ends, I'm putting in Before the Robots by Better Than Ezra. These and Tears for Fears' Greatest Hits (genius! old-school liberal) are my most recent purchases.
I also have a bunch of cd's out of the library.

Mmm....Tommy.... I love that (the wife hates it). I could watch that movie over and over again (who cares if the whole thing is hokey?).

As for music... CD player? What's that? At work (when my one office-mate, who doesn't like ANY of my music choices is out of the room), I get to listen to my iTunes (love Smart Playlists!).

    KISS
    Queen
    Ratt
Swing (Brent Spiner and James Darren)
    Classic Rock
    Hard Rock
    The Beatles

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

I stopped using my CD player when I got my iPod video.

Now I have it hard wired into my Honda and go through a tape in the Pontiac.

If I was going to pick a few...

Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
Blue Man Group - The Complex
    Supertramp - Greatest
David Gilmour - The Island (Just cause it's new)

As far as The Who go... I think I enjoy Quadrophinia more than Tommy.
