    Tree on the Car

Yep. Tree on the car. I have proof.

    http://pathworkscommunity.org/photos/

Well, not any more, we moved it last night, but still, there definately was one there at one point in time. That storm was wicked crazy. Did anyone else have any damage?

I was posting this here really to thank those who helped me out. Of all the people I know in town who I called, only my theatre friends showed up in the middle of the night to attack this tree with a hand saw and help me try to get it out of the street. I know at least one, Gus (aka...Amph...y..m...38....something...I can never remember his screen name), is on IndianaAuditions. Everyone needs to send him a shout out and tell him how awesome he is.

Doug from the Ragtime cast and Mike Schmidt from the crew also came out, as well as Gabe who I met during Beauty and the Beast. Without them there, I never would have gotten my car out from under that tree and probably would have had to stay out all night lighting flares so people wouldn't run into the car or the tree. I'm indebted to all of them and am getting a little choked up now just thinking about it.

By the way...does anyone know of someone trying to sell a car, cheap? It doesn't need to be fancy or anything, I just need some way of getting from point A to point B.

Wow...glad to know you weren't in the car when it happened.

Good job Gus, et al, for helping out a Baidabel in distress!

See, I knew there was a reason for this board?

Sandy, wow, I am sooo glad you were NOT in the car.

Thank you to everyone for coming out. I think Gus came all the way from Danville to help? WOW!!

    All in the spirit of collaboration! ;D;

Seriously, if you can't depend on your theatre friends, then who?

    Glad to help.

Awesome! What wonderful friends. Roses to all those who helped. Not much damage at all in our neighborhood. (Northeast off of 62nd and Binford Blvd.)

We're in Gulf Shores, Alabama, but my daughter told us it was really bad. I don't think we had any damage at our home though.

I always knew Gus was a good guy. Kudos to all of you who helped out.

What a mess! I'm so sorry about your car! But I'm so glad you had good help. Way to go, Amphitryon38! (Copy and paste is my friend! ;D Wish there were a way to boost you up to YaBB God because you surely deserve it!

liloldlady, you're in my neighborhood! We lost a branch in the backyard and thus came thisclose to losing the sandbox, but other than that, we're good. We had weekend company so I was just glad we didn't have to go down to our messy basement!

    Re: Tree on the Car

There was a woman not far from where we live who actually had a tree fall on her car when she was driving it. She made it out alright, though. It's still scary, though, thinking about it.

I think I'm going to start a thread in the Want/Buy/Sell section about a car. I need to resolve that issue, and fast.

Thanks again everyone, for commenting/caring/well wishing and such. And Gus, I'm baking cookies Wednesday for those who took the time to come out and help me.
