Gary's Puppies and Warm Milk inside

OK, so there's really not puppies nor warm milk here. If you thought there was, well, hate to break it to you, but this is an electronic medium. Puppies can be found at most Humane Societies, and warm milk is pretty easy with a microwave (though I've never been a warm milk fan myself, unless of course there's some chocolate and whipped cream all mixed up in it...perhaps some peppermint...oh, crud...I digress...)

No, this is a response to the recent flurry of personal emails that our beloved site administrator, Joe, received from people in our little online community. I decided to post this in a new thread because:
1 - Joe had made a humble request to let the other thread die
2 - Frankly, I was tired of seeing 'Hey Gary (political discussion inside)NEW' every friggin' time I checked the site

The closest thing to a mission statement that I can find about this website is this:
"This site is an open, free and dedicated forum with the sole purpose of informing the performing public about upcoming casting calls, and information relating to stage and film in the state of Indiana.
We are dedicated to providing the most authoritative and current information to the statewide performing arts society and look forward to serving you, the performing and entertainment community."

Now, that seems pretty clear to me. Particularly the "sole purpose" part. I must admit, though, that there have been some pretty lively non-theater related discussion of which I have been a part, and have thoroughly enjoyed...yes, even the 'Hey Gary' thread. Since there is precedence of allowing this type of discussion under the "Potpourri" heading, I see no reason to put a general kibosh on anything that doesn't have to do with theater or film. After all, this is generally a pretty friendly group and even though we disagree vehemently on many issues, we all can get together for some hot chocolate (dam* - I'm obsessing!) from time to time and have a good laugh. Usually at each other's expense. I like to think that we put the "fun" in dysfunctional.

What I do take issue with is the idea that people, OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL, may read some of our pointless blathering, take offense, and then have the temerity to believe that they somehow know what is best for the rest of us, and go running to mommy (or in this case, Joe) and start complaining that their wittle feelings were hurt. Get a grip, folks. If you don't like Howard Stern, don't buy a Sirius radio. If you don't like violence on television, don't watch The Sopranos. And if you are offended by political discussion, don't venture into threads that are clearly marked "(political discussion inside)." Take some responsibility for yourselves, and avoid reading the stuff that might make your little toes curl.

Now excuse me while I fire up my Coco-latte machine...

    Your ever-lovin', whiny pacifist, doo-doo head forum-friend,
    Eric

    I agree with Eric.

I am, however, offended. I just liked seeing MY NAME on a topic every day. Would please change this heading to "Gary's puppies and warm milk inside"? It would mean a lot.

You got it...particularly since it was your suggestion that gave me the subject heading.

Though I must admit, now that your name is once again in the marquee, I'm looking forward to this one dying a very quick death.

The following movies are all about Puppies. It's not theater, but, hey, it's film!

Mother Mack Trains Her Seven Puppies (1952)
    Wild Puppies (1927)
Mother Mack's Puppies Find Happy Homes (1953)
    Puppies for Sale (1998)
Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw (1988)
The Puppies and the Little Tease (1903)
    Sociala arvet, Det (1993)
    aka "Misfits to Yuppies"
102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue (2000) (VG)
The Puppies and Their Mother (1902)
    The Happiest Millionaire (1967)
    "Pound Puppies" (1986)
    Flaming Poppies (1963)
    Babies and Puppies (1903)
    Hot Puppies (1929)
    Prize Puppies (1930)
    Puppies (1921)
    A Yard of Puppies (1903)

    Surprised you didn't know that... ;D;

I for ONE, am DYING to see "Hot Puppies". Do you think that has anything to do with a "milk" incident?

Um...gee, Gus, not a thing. That's why I put it under Potpourri. BTW, the "Hey Gary" thread had little-to-nothing to do with theater, but you posted on there...without yelling and frown-y faces, I might add.

    Just sayin'...
