What an amazing cast! They threw away scripts almost 4 weeks BEFORE opening. They truely have already opened this show, even before their opening night! The chemistry between each of them pulls you into the show.

The Orchestra/band, tucked deep within the set, is Superb! Musical Director John Sparkman has truely mastered this show along with each musician that makes up his 6 peice band. You would think that there were more of them as they double up on multiple instruments to bring this great orchestration to life.

The set is a new higher standered to be achieved of future productions at BCP. Aaron Bailey has pulled all the stops out in this multi level design. The realistic scenes take your imagination to the streets of Giliad, Wisconsin were the story line is based. From a small diner to the realistic rustic porch, this set will be one I will hate to dismantel at the end of the run (and for the fact of the multi levels.).

Opening night is this Friday June 2, 2006 at 8pm and will run for 3 weeks including Sunday matinee's at 2:30pm. The Lobby opens at 7pm and the theater doors open at 7:30pm. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS TODAY!

One small disclamer: I am the Sound Designer for this show.

God bless ya, man, but I don't think I've ever seen the word "standard" butchered in such a unique way.

Oh and I'll just leave that "truely" (truly) alone...

Ok... all the spelling errors aside... thanks Don for the great piece on the show. (Like I'm one to talk about spelling errors)

I too am in the show can can honestly say that I was FLOORED by the set. It took my breath away when I saw it complete.

When I left last Thursday for the 4 day weekend I had no idea how much work they were going to do in my absence. When I came back for Monday's rehearsal and walked in to the theater my jaw hit the floor!

I had to take 5 minutes just walking the set to look at all the little nuances.

The 5 piece orchestra is AMAZING and Don is right... they sound MUCH larger.

I can't wait to run the show in front of an audience.

Just so you know, I was joking. No hard feelings, I hope.

It was a common joke to make fun of my spelling. I am the WORST when it comes to typing and Gary used to make a game of it.

I think Tom was continuing in that thread but this time you were the victim.

Glad it wasn't me this time.

If you want... you can give it to him when you see him at the show. He has three weeks to get there and he better to make it to at least one of them.

He isn't as bad as he seems... don't get me wrong... he IS that ugly... but not near as bad.

Can't wait to see the show! I think we're making reservations for Sunday so Nicole can sit through it.

Awww dawg, I'm not feelin' the love here. Check it out dawg.

Anyway, I do plan on coming...right now we're looking at the 17th. I know, we need to get our tickets. I just need to finalize our plans (and get a babysitter).

Hey Becky! Don (IndianapolisTech) has hit the nail on the head with his post. Now, granted, we are both members of the production team and may have biased opinions, but I think people would agree with us when we say that we have the ability to recognize good theater....and we are all so proud of everyone's accomplishments with The Spitfire Grill! The small 6-person orchestra is divine! How often can you have the opportunity to have an accordian in your orchestra? This show is orchestrated for an accordian, but no percussion! Can you believe it? This amazing cast made the "leap" so quickly, discarding their scripts early on and having the opportunity to really fine-tune their characters and give me the opportunity, as director, to clean and clean and clean! What an amazing experience this has been...and it is one that I hope you all can share in by coming to see the show. I guarantee that it will change you life when you walk out of the theater!!!!
