    Shows you are interested in...

I'll admit... I didn't go to any of the fringe shows last year. We were on vacation at the time and with packing... vacation... and unpacking we missed the entire event.

This year however I am looking to take in at least 6 shows and will probably be taking a day off work just to get a few in that I really want to see.

Top of my list is Jaws the Musical

    Smile Fresh Meat

Get your mind out of the gutter....

Saw their inaugural performance last year.
Looking forward to a second helping of Fresh Meat.
Quick, witty, diverse, hysterical, intricate, and three great talents.

It is Saturday Night Live *the good years* on speed, with a twist of cultural shock and a spritz of naughty humor. Well worth the $10.

Rough Magic (my company) produced the Dastardly Ficus plays a couple of years ago with Leigh and Lindsay - they're terrific, and anything written by Emily Schwartz is worth watching. It's uniquely funny.

Fresh Meat is fan-freakin'-tastic. Their sketch about an "Odd Couple" sitcom about a Palestinean and a Jew last year was sheer brilliance.

If Cleopatrick is anything like Testacles then expect a constant barrage of frat-boy humor with a Ren Faire sorta spin. It's about 45 minutes of non-stop innuendo and scatological humor . . . and what could be more entertaining?

    Too many

I went through the shows and found far too many that I wouldn't mind seeing. Now, I'll have to whittle it down. (Seriously, the little tabs in my browser were all overlapping.) I didn't see anything last year. I think the hubster was involved in something around that time last year and, of course, it was All About Him.

One show that is going on my list as a Must is Not In Public. I've seen Bob perform in different venues and his shows are always worthwhile. He's a great guy. It should be interesting to watch him "explore the line between discretion and censorship, humor and pain, responsibility and self-expression."

A few others very near the top of my list are Prisonopoly, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, Fat, and The Honeymoon Suite.

I love the variety I see in the offerings. I love to see theatre mixed in with juggling and clairvoyants. Fun. My first time at a Fringe Festival was in Minneapolis many years ago. We did see a great juggling act. We also saw a play about lesbians and female masturbation (as it turned out!). With us, we had a foreign exchange student from Japan who we were hosting for the summer. I remember sitting there thinking, "Please don't let his English be that good...please don't let his English be that good!"

I'll be working backstage at The Fringe, so I'll be unable to see everything. However, these are the shows that caught my interest:

An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein
    Fresh Meat: A Second Serving
    Jaws: The Musical!
The Candid Biography of a Single Chess Table Chosen at Random on an Ambiguous Spring Day in Central Park
    The Redheads
    Cool Table

    Looking forward to it!

I can't wait to see as much as possible. Being in the Fringe helps, cuz I can see any non-soldout show. And we get a couple days off, so I might just spend a day at each venue and not get out of my seat.

I did notice that nobody wants to see Bachelor Holiday. That's the one I am in/producing. You guys didn't come see me when I lived there, you better drag your sorry butts out now that I am coming from Maryland to perform for you.

On a side note, nice new format!

Actually Bachelor Holiday DID catch my eye. I just haven't weighed in on this thread yet. But that one did look like it might be funny.
